would you mind sharing how you did it? I'm a student and I would like to receive an email every time my professors post an announcement. I have one professor who refuses to use email and that is the only way he communicates with us. We miss assignments all the time because I don't have the internet...

Hi Melissa - it is in the Create Announcement area, right under the "Select Date Restrictions". If you aren't seeing the option, is your email function turned on in your course and/or does your account have an email address associated with it?

Hi Melissa - when you create an announcement there is an override notifications option. By checking this option box, an email with the text of the announcement will be sent to all users in the course.
