When I've copied Gradebook grades and pasted them into an Excel spreadsheet, I got nonsense (i.e., all the grades were in one giant cell). How have people successfully imported grades into a spreadsheet and keeping all the same columns, rows, and formattiting stuff?

I don't think the standard grading forms are designed for adding points up like you want to do. I think the grading forms are more designed for holistic grading (like IELTS Bands) where the student receives a score for each criteria by each criteria being clicked on at a certain level (or, performance indicator -- e.g., poor, good, excellent).
