Hi Mike, Thanks for your response. I realized it is a browser/java issue, as I'm not having a problem uploading in a different browser. I'm not sure how to work with this java thing... this problem only came up because I downloaded the new version of firefox yesterday... oh well.

I need to upload files from my own hard drive, but when I try to browse for files on my own computer, I can only get to files on blackboard itself. I used to be able to do this by clicking the bottom icon on the left side, but now it's gone... please help me.
