This exact same event happened to my course yesterday--we're on Spring Break now-and I'd like to assume it's due to "maintenance"....However, this is two consecutive courses in which it's happened. And not to all courses I'm teaching. Just the same one each time. This is a big problem. Very inefficient and waste of time

Hi, Paige--Yep, as I noted--the publisher acknowledged that initial problem and are going to convert the .doc unzipped files into an acceptable format for Bb. They're also now trying to figure out why their Testbank options described with "Higher" in the title evidently can't be imported into Bb 9.
-
Since the publisher is going to convert these to an acceptable format--my new question is: I tried to ask Dr. C a question a few hours ago about the difference in book companions test banks--(I asked the difference between" BB6x7x Examview Testbank Files" and "BB7x higher Examview"--since I can't get the latter into my course
-
Thanks, Paige About 10 minutes ago, we received the wonderful news that the publisher is going to convert the .docs to Examview for us... (which will clarify for them what "electronic testbank files" really means when trying to sell a new product) I also appreciate your locating the latest URL for BYUI.

I went to http://www.byui.edu/onlinelearning/employees/testgen/index.htm and viewed the sample .docs (put asterisks in front of correct answer, etc.) But if I have the .docs already---I don't see the "generator" or "converter" that will get them Bb-acceptable... In fact, I don't even see the word "Blackboard" ?
-
You're welcome--but I posted a new problem about 2 hrs ago!
-
I can't get them into my course's pool..(.we're in bb 9 ) Bottom line: Is there any way to convert .docs in a zip to something that Bb will accept? When publisher's book companion website DOES have testbank that Bb will accept, I'll see: Blackboard 7.1x Testbank But with the textbook I have to use, the publisher's online book

A few moments ago, I received this additional info: The recommended workaround is to switch to List(rather than Tree) view; that should avoid the error. and that worked.

Yesterday, I sent this msg to our college's Bb tech division: "I'm using FF or IE....I can't get Bb posts to "Collect" so that I can sort them by last name (or date) When I use FF, the screen says: The data area passed to a system call is too small. When I use IE, "Done" appears at the bottom, but the screen is white

Our system administrator made a "practice" shell for several of us....he believes the old course with the cartridge material should be archived instead of exported (Said it worked for him) I haven't had time to experiment yet-but hopefully this will do the trick...thanks for the quick responses.
