We are using Blackboard Learn 9.1 SP8 and Blackboard community engagement for our portal/elearn system. Students access their Blackboard courses via a sub tab of the Home tab and the ‘My Courses’ module is setup to display at the top of column 2. Students are not able to Personalise the tab but they are able to Personalise the module. So

HI Mike, Unfortunately XML is the bag I'm in. It's (yet another) case of "If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have done it like that". When I first read the BB admin guide I thought "Great! BB supports an XML feed format, Oracle (what our SIS runs on) has all the tools from producing XML and I know how to use them."

Hi Mike, The XML seems to be littered with potential data source key references, in the form of <SOURCE> tags. I have never fully understood why it is necessary to have some many places to reference a DSK. It seems as though virtually every XML node can contain a DSK! As I understand it when you run an XML file containing organization memberships in XML_SNPSHT mode BB should discard all current memberships that are not defined as memberships in the XML file. Hi Brendan, No the issue still exists for us as far as I know. The policy so far has been to inform the IT helpdesk to advise any users who suffer from the problem to use Firefox / Chrome. I was going to raise a ticket with BB support but haven't got around to it yet - I have been working on something completely different. Guy

Hi Mike, If I go to: Brands and Themes --> Manage Brands --> Customise: Default Brand (which is BB Learn 2012) then select the "Navigation Settings" tab, in the section called " 4. Designate Home and Support Links I don't see Icon Sets for the BBlearn 2012 theme: they are completely missing - no reference to icons at all. On

Hi Mike, Good point, but no-one has reported general browser problems - only when using Blackboard. Hang times seem far worse in IE than any other browser it has to be said. I'll raise a ticket. Cheers, Guy
