'Delete' option- missing!

I would like to delete some of my posts in the discussion board or at least to hide them since there is such an option shown in Help section but I am unable to do that. There is no 'Delete' button or whatever option to do that. Please tell me what to do?

Trouble with posting threads on Discussion Forum

I am with PCCUA and am having trouble posting to a discussion forum that my teacher created for my class. The status for the discussion has 0 posts and 0 participants. When I click to open the discussion link, there isn't a text window to post in. It just says, "Organize Forum Threads on this...
