I have a team of graders marking weekly assignments. I have been trying, without success, to find a way to filter the grades for an assignment using the identity of the person who graded the assignments. Alternatively, it would be useful to be able to display the identity of the grader beside the grade.

The only way I have found so far to identify the grader is by viewing the grade history for an individual student's attempts.

Any help much appreciated.

Jonathan-

Are the graders receiving a random sample of student work, or do they grade the same students every time?

I have helped several courses manage grading (and checking of the grades) where each grader always grades the same students. We created a text column that is not visible to student that contains the name of the grader assigned to that student. We also used that column to create Smart Views for each grader, which also made it easier for them to enter grades.

In this case you would be able to just sort by the "Grader" column to see who graded each student or use the Smart View. You could still use the grade history to double check that it is being followed correctly.

Unfortunately the graders grade a different sample each week. I guess I could follow your suggestion but create a different column for each exercise.

Thanks,

I have decided on a simpler solution. I have created a set of groups, with the same number of groups as TAs, and I will randomly assign a TA to each group for each exercise. Not 100% of what I was looking for but certainly workable.
