Good Morning!

I was recently told that screen readers for visually impaired individuals cannot read wikis/wiki content.  Is this true?

Katrina,

I have not seen any reports on listservs or known issues specifically related to problems with Blackboard wikis and screen readers.  In the Blackboard Accessibility Resources page (http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Learn/Resources/Accessibility/Accessibility-Resources.aspx), there are links to tutorials on how to use screen readers to navigate various functions in Blackboard, and the 9.1 tutorial I looked at specifically mentions how to get around wikis with a screen reader.

So, if there are problems navigating wikis with screen readers, it doesn't seem like Blackboard or most schools are aware of them.

Mike
