How can you track how long a student spent on each question in a timed, one question at a time, test?

Gerald,

You can't track the time spent on individual questions in Blackboard Learn 9.1, at least not yet.

I've heard that more detailed reporting--closer to what was available in Blackboard CE/Vista--is in the works for the future.  (The current tracking system in Learn is based on what was in Blackboard Academic Suite, not CE/Vista...)

Hi Mike!

Just wondering if you are aware of any update to this? I had an instructor ask today if he could view how long students spent on individual questions.

Thanks!

Jennifer,

There is more detailed course reporting available (starting in SP8 or SP9) where instructors can see how much time students spent in individual course areas or on individual tasks with the "Student Overview for a Single Course" report.   In SP10, there is now detailed item analysis of test questions, to give instructors overall stats on the results and effectiveness of particular questions (see https://help.blackboard.com/en-us/Learn/9.1_SP_10_and_SP_11/Instructor/070_Tests_Surveys_Pools/112_Running_Item_Analysis_on_a_Test).  However, I haven't seen any reporting of how long a student spent on each question in an individual attempt.
