Help!  I can't seem to open up any supplemental readings for cultural anthropology.  It says it is missing a plug-in.  What does this mean?  What plug-in?

Beverly,

The message about a "missing plug-in" means that the file for the readings requires a particular type of player software--like Adobe (PDF) or MS Word--and you either don't have that player installed on your computer, or your web browser doesn't know how to open the player.

Unfortunately, we at Dr. C's don't have any connection to your school or access to your class, so we can't tell you what type of file the readings are.   You might try right-clicking on the link to the  file for the readings and saving it ("Save as..." or "Save target as...", rather than trying to open it in the web browser.  That sometimes makes it easier to figure out what software you need to open it.

If you still have problems, check with your instructor to find out what kind of file is being used for the supplemental readings.
