I have an instructor with the following issue:

I am having problems importing quizzes from McGraw Hill’s EZ test to my blackboard course site.  The quiz imports with 0 errors – but – it does not show in my assessment file.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Angie

Hi Angie,

Can you clarify from the instructor that they are:

1. Importing a zip file in IMQ QTI/Content Package format for Blackboard (WebCT) Vista/Campus Edition

2. They are importing through Build tab->Manage Course->Import and not just trying to upload through the File Manager

A quick way to tell if the zip file is IMS QTI/Content Package is unzip the file where you should see a "imsmanifest.xml" file, maybe a "webct_qti.xsd" file and one or more XML files.

If you see something like a ".bb-package-info" file and one or more "res0000x.dat" files, it is a Blackboard LS "Classic"/Learn Pool file that cannot be imported into Blackboard "WebCT" Campus Edition/Vista.

The other option is to have the instructor contact McGraw-Hill EZ-Test Support for assistance.

Cheers,

Bob

Hello Bob,

Thanks for your reply.  She sent me the zip file and and there is an "imsmanifest.xml" file and a "res00001.dat" file.  Does this indicate that it is a Classic/Learn Pool file?

Thanks,
Angie

Hi Angie,

It definitely looks like a Blackboard LS "Classic"/Learn pool file. The instructor will need to go back to the publisher for a "WebCT" Vista/CE IMS QTI file. Another option is check out the Respondus Test Bank Network (http://www.respondus.com/testbank/index.shtml). Many publishers also create textbook test banks in Respondus format for publishing to any version of Blackboard LS/Learn, Blackboard "WebCT" Vista/CE, Angel Learning and others.

Cheers,

Bob
