For Bb 8.x, the rule of thumb is about 500 users per application node.

What is the guideline for the number of users per server in Bb 9.1?  We are planning to to purchase SUN Sparc T5120, 1x8 core 1.6 GHz T2.  Each server will 4 virtual instances.  Each instance will have 8 Gb of memory.

Rowen,

Have you seen the 9.1 Sun sizing guide available at  https://behind.blackboard.com/s/sysadminas/refcenter/docs/details.Bb?DocumentID=3758 ?

Mike,

I don't have access to that specific document, but was using the Bb Learn 9.1 HW Sizing Guide for Sun Deployment document located in https://behind.blackboard.com/s/cevista/refcenter/docs/details.Bb?DocumentID=3758&pid=100000&rid=5797&dt=.  It does not specifically give information based on number of active users, as it did in the 8.x and 9.0 documentation.
