I've checked through Blackboard, I've download the Manual, and I can find nothing to close a Discussion Board to eliminate the possibility of late postings.

Yes, I know there is a place to allow "Display", or not, however, I set that, logged out and back in and without using the Control Panel was still able to access and use the Discussion Board.

Our Bb guru couldn't find anything other than that also.

Any helpful hints out there?

Sorry we missed this post you made earlier.

Since you posted this in the CE6, CE 8, Vista course management discussion I will assume you are using one of those Blackboard products.

locking a discussion in either of those products is pretty easy.

From your Teach tab, click on Discussions in your left hand navigation menu.

Go to the Action menu for the discussion you want to lock and select 'Edit Properties"

Scroll down and open "Topic Behavior options"

select "Lock this topic for Students (Section Instructors can post in a locked topic) "

Save

Hope this helps

Hi Harold,

I searched Google to try to find an answer to this question and came across your post above. Would you let me know how I can do this in BB version 8?

Thanks,

Tom

Thomas,

Sorry for the late response.  Are you asking about Blackboard CE 8, or are you asking about Blackboard Academic Suite 8? You posted this question in the CE 8 area.
