how do online courses work. for instance math 1501.

Do you have a particular instructor that is using Blackboard? Or do you have a question to ask about a specific tool? If so, with which tool do you need help?

Generally speaking, your instructor adds various tools and resources that will help with your learning.

Not sure this is the answer you were looking for, but it's hard to answer such a broad question.

I have the same question. I have an online course (I'm first year) but I don't know the first thing about it! Do I just take it on Blackboard on my own time and submit projects on time and go to finals?

Hi Caroline.  Each course and each instructor is different.  Many courses operate in the manner you mentioned, but some do not.  To be sure you are on task, contact your instructor or at least login to Blackboard and find the syllabus for your course to see what is expected of you.
