"The instructions below can help but you need to know the student credentials. Alternatively, you can change the student Authentication source to local for a minute so you can delete the attachment.


How to delete an attachment for a graded assignment
Scenario:
- when a teacher grades an assignment for a student he/she attaches a file with a breakdown of the grading (something similar with a grading form)
- sometimes the teacher attaches the grading file for a student (A) to another student (B); as a result student B can see how student A was graded

Before all this, please make a note of the student grade for the student assignment submission.
1) Make the assignment available again
- Click on Build or Teach tabs
- Drop down the Action Menu beside the name of the assignment (I.e. Access Chapter 3)
- Change the Cutoff Date to today's date
- Click on More Options
- Make sure that "Students can take back and correct work after submission option" is selected
- Click Save
2) Allow the submission to be Returned to Students for further editing
- click on the Teach tab
- click on the Assignment Dropbox
- click on View Submissions for the specific student (i.e. jsmith)
- click Edit
- select "Return to Student for further editing"
- click Save
3) Delete the un-desired attachment
- login with the student credentials
- click on Assignments
- click Edit for the specific assignment (i.e. Access Chapter 3)
- delete the desired attachment (i.e. AStevens.htm )
- click Submit
4) Re-grade the assignment submission for the student
- login as the teacher
- go to the Assignment Dropbox
- click Review Submissions for the particular student (i.e. jsmith)
- click Edit
- select "Return graded submission to Student with the following grade" and input the initial grade
- Save
5) Make the assignment un-available
- Click on Build or Teach tabs
- Drop down the Action Menu beside the name of the assignment (i.e. Access Chapter 3)
- Change the TIME for the Cutoff Date with the current time + 1 min
- Save
Note: You cannot change the Cutoff Date to a date from the past"
