It's time to add content watermark appearing for students

When I log in as a student and open a folder with no content in it, I see the same reminder with the curved arrows that I see when I'm an instructor. Any way to get rid of this from the student view?

Wondering if anyone knows where this went? I don't see it in the listing of mashups in the new VTBE. It's listed on our building blocks as available.

Course name in blue

We just upgraded to sp12 this morning and I notice system-wide that the course name at the top of the menu is in blue. Given that the background of the menu is magenta it makes the title hard to see. Is there any way at the system level to change that to a different color or even simply to black?

Is there a way in Collaborate to tell when students have entered the session and how long they have been in the session? Wimba used to have this functionality and I didn't know if there was a similar place within collaborate web conferencing.

I have 42 discussion groups. How can I determine who is in each group without having to open each group. Is there a list somewhere of who has been assigned to each group?

Counting extra credit column in weighted total

If I have an instructor who would like 5 points added to the total and reflected in a weighted column, what would be the process to do that? Right now when she adds it, the total points change, but the percentage does not.

Attempt Events Log

I became acquainted with Blackboard through BB WebCT and later through BB CE. I am now teaching at a school that uses BB 9.1. My question involves gaining access to an "Access Log" that used to be avaiable in the earlier versions, but which I can't seem to find in 9.1. This was a time log that was associated with exams that showed a user's progress when taking an exam -- what question they were viewing and when they accessed it, when they saved an answer, when they moved onto another question, when they completed the test, and so on. From the window's URL, it appears that the system referred to this as an "Attempt Events Log". The thing was available by clicking on the gradebook column drop down menu, selecting "View Submissions" and then, once the Assessment Manager window opened, by clicking on the link for the actual duration of a particular attempt under the "Time" column.

Is there a way to access this log file under 9.1?

I found something in the knowledge database that implied that the link exists, but it didn't offer info on how it would be accessed. It also doesn't appear to exist under the "View All Attempts" window in 9.1, which is the closest thing to the Assessment Manager that I could find.

ok to delete orphaned content?

We have WAAAAY too much of this and need to delete some things. If we archive live courses to our own drive, is it safe to assume that deleting content in the orphaned content area will not remove live content? I believe I've been reading this correctly but I want to be sure.

I typed very lengthy e-mail to a user group. I did not send or cancel it. However, I went back into my course to locate some information to put in the e-mail and "lost" my e-mail. Is there not a "do you want to save this" warning or some type of "reminder" that you are leaving the page?

cannot inset image for Calculated Formula question in SP11

Hi,

Previously, I was able to insert image in a Calculated Formula question. but now there is no 'Browse' button for me to inset the images. What i have is a drop down box with the Action : Create a link to this media file or Display image wihtrin the page.

Does anyone know if this is a bug? I don't want to insert image using Mashup.

Question about Tests imported into Blackboard

I imported a test (through pools) into Bb9 and edited the tests. Some of the tests are "multiple answers" and wanted to know will they automatically be graded. Or, like essays and fill in the blank, will I have to manually grade the tests?

Is it possible to grade items by a grading period smart view? For example, if I have several assignments (all with different categories) would it be possible to grade them all at once? They all have the same due date also, so I wonder if that would be possible?

How do instructors enter manual grades w/ "Not partipating" in that cell?

Hello Dr. Blackboard,

How does an instructors enter manual grades when the cell in the grade center says "student not participating" and there is nothing to click/edit in the cell.

The reason for needing to edit the grade is students sometimes email their work instead of properly posting it.

Application sharing the collaborate environment

I was trying to do a training on breakout rooms via Collaborate. I was trying to show participants how to move a slide into the breakout room, and was application sharing my desktop, thinking I would be able to see the whiteboard. Then I remembered, that as soon as you are in App share, you have a gray screen. I wanted to show the participants how they could right click anywhere on the whiteboard screen and get the menu for moving the slides. But of course they couldn't see this. Is there anyway to app share to show this, or is the only way to do this is to make a recording?

Students unable to submit group assignments

Groups were created for the students, but when they attempt to submit an assignment they receive, "The specified resource was not found, or you do not have permission to access it." I've searched for other posts here, but most with this error seem to be broken links to a resource, like a file. The problem I'm having is just enabling the students to submit their group assignments. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know of a method for viewing the adaptive release rules for all the items in a course?

Currently, if you forget what you have related your item to for release, you have to open each item to see. It would also be a great way to prevent errors or verify accuracy.
