Thanks Mike. I don't see how to merge cells there. Can I do that in HTML mode?

Julie,

I think that to change the table properties, the best way to do it is to use the "<>" icon to switch the editor over to HTML mode and edit the table properties directly.

Greetings - I am creating a table in a content page with two columns and one row. I am loading an image into the first column and then adding my text to the second column. It is a work around I used in Angel to have text wrap around the image. My problem is once I build the table and add the image and the text I cannot get to the table properties to have the display of table be without borders. Is there a way to do this in Blackboard Visual Text Editor. I am in Bb version 9. Thank you. Nancy K Hoke - Mosaica Education Group - Abu Dhabi, UAE

Hi Nancy,

This is indeed a very often used workaround for having text next to an image.
When you create the table there's the setting of the borders of that table, but you don't want it to be invisible yet when you still have to add text and the image.
But it's relative easy to change the border settings afterwards. In the Visual Text Box Editor click on the <> button. That will bring you in HTML mode of the item.
On the position where you created the table you will see something like this:
""< table style="WIDTH: 100" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" align="baseline" border="1">""

Here you can change the border setting from 1 into 0 (border=""0"").
By clicking again on the <> button you will get back into the normal mode of the VTBE.
