&lt;p&gt;You cannot add a hierarchy node association to a user or course when creating them via the command-line snapshot tool, or with a batch file (i.e. Admin Panel &amp;gt; Users &amp;gt; Batch Actions &amp;gt; Create Users).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The Institutional Hierarchy is a new feature, and you can only add a person or course to a node via the GUI, or with the new Data Integration framework that&amp;#39;s configured through the Admin Panel (under Building Blocks).&lt;/p&gt;
