Windows 8 OS is being released in October 2012. When will Blackboard be compatible with it?

Gloria,

I'm afraid we don't have any specific information about future compatibility with Windows 8.  More often, the issues are with browsers, browser plug-ins, and Java more than the Windows version itself.

Also, be aware that just because the most current version of Blackboard is compatible with a particular OS and browser does not necessarily mean that your school will choose to immediately upgrade to the latest version.

Hello Michael,

Do you have any informtion about the compatibility with Blackboard specifically SP9 and Windows 8.?

We are starting our fall term and hae some users with Win8 and we are not sure about the Blackboard SP9 behavior.

Hi Bere,

The release notes for SP9 unfortunately don't include Windows 8, however, as Michael mentioned previously, the focus is usually on the version of the browser regarding compatibility.

Here is a link to the SP9 Release Notes: http://library.blackboard.com/d/?23d46c59-39dd-4da7-b380-7fd308755ee4

We are on SP9 also at our College and haven't received any trending reports of issues with Windows 8.

Sincerely,

Eric

Just an update.  I found the compatibility of Blackboard's latest release, SP11, with Windows 8 on this help document: https://help.blackboard.com/en-us/Learn/9.1_SP_10_and_SP_11/Student/002_Browser_Support

Sincerely,

Eric
