Hello,

I keep having this problem but sometimes it does work so I am confused. I created an announcement and used the "Attach Image" button to insert an image into the announcement. You can see the image in the announcement on Bb, but when I select to send an email of the announcement, the image does not appear in the email - just a box with a red X.

Please help. Thanks

Sam,

When you create an announcement in Blackboard (or any other web page) and add an image, what is included in the announcement is really a link to the image file, which is stored on the Blackboard web server.  So, when you get that announcement in an email, what you're really getting is a web page in your inbox.

If you are already logged into Blackboard when you try to view that announcement web page, then you have permission to access files in Blackboard, including the image file.  If you are not logged into Blackboard, you will not have permission to see the image file unless both the Blackboard server and your course are set up to allow guests to view content without logging in.
