This is about the Virtual Classroom tool:

For some odd reason, anytime a participant is marked as active or inactive, their name is duplicated in the list. This becomes really annoying if you have a lot of users to handle as the list then becomes ridiculously long. Anyone know what's going on?

Also, is it possible to enforce students to join as inactive? I'm having random students join and then they scribble (to test if they're working) on in-progress whiteboard work is aggravating for myself and students asking questions.

Fred,

Unfortunately, name duplication in chat and virtual classroom is a known issue, with no patch available yet.  Contact the help desk at your school, and ask them (or the administrator) to open a problem ticket with Blackboard, so they can get updates on when an fix may be available.

I don't see any simple way to have students join the virtual classroom as inactive, but I'll try to investigate further.

Mike
