Hi,

We have recently noticed on our system (9.1.60230.0) that there seems to be an issue with course menus which use buttons as opposed to text. The buttons are not displayed fully on the page horizontally - it cuts off the edit button on the right hand side. There is a vertical scroll bar, but not a horizontal scroll bar. This means that staff are no longer able to edit item names, or change availability.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this?

I have tried a number of things to resolve this issue, including zooming out of the page and changing the screen resolution. Neither have resolved this problem.

It seems to be an issue on the following browsers:

  • IE 9
  • Firefox (12.0)
  • Chrome (19.0.1084.52)

But works fine on IE8.

Any ideas?

Kind Regards

Bethan

It's OK, after researching this a bit more, I found the following page:

http://kb.blackboard.com/display/KB/Buttons+Menu+Style+does+not+work+for+Firefox+and+Chrome

The issue is resolved by editing the style sheet. We are upgrading to 9.1.8 next month, and the issue is resolved anyway in this version.

Kind Regards

Bethan,

I'm glad you found the article.  I knew there was a known issue, but hadn't had a chance to look it up yet.  By the way, the link you have no longer works for those using the new Behind the Blackboard, but the current link to the same article is https://blackboard.secure.force.com/btbb_GeneralArticleView?Id=50170000000WYJdAAO&RecordType=01270000000HjNWAA0
