This problem is only occurring for one instructor. When he sends an email to his class, it inserts <br><br> into the email body instead of the space from hitting enter.
Example:
Grades are posted for assignment 1 and Test 2 for Chem 101 onBlackboard in“Course Information.”<br><br>Send any questions to the TA.<br><br>Bryn Lutes
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
Bryn - I'm thinking this is browser related. When I use IE I get <p> tags; when I use Firefox I get <br> tags and when I use Chrome I get <div> tags. Hopefully the new text editor (sp9 or 10 I believe) will be more consistent.

Thanks Paige.
I use Chrome, but don't get any tags when I send something.
Do you have the text editor turned on? Or are you using it without the editor which is text only? I've not seen it put no tags unless the visual text editor is turned off. FYI - I'm on 9.1 sp3 so it could be something in your version. Do you know the version/service pack you are working on?
paige.
We are on 9.1 sp5. It only has a plain text option for writing email.

Well, I can definitely tell it is Friday...I just picked up on the email part :) Yes, email is text only but on emails through Bb, I've not seeing it put the tags in. I don't have an sp5 version to test on but I'll try to see if there is anything out there for that version.
I'm not seeing any info on this but if it is happening consistently, it is probably worth submitting a ticket to Blackboard.
