I would like to play lectures from blackboard on my Iphone, how can I do that?

I'm on Iphone version 4.2.10. I use both the blackboard.com and the elearn.blackboard.com (via university of new england).  I can log on to both blackboards just fine. However when I try to click to view a lecture or pretty much anything in that central window area, it comes up blank. How can  I get this area to load on my Iphone so that I can listen to lectures while driving?  I should note that normally I can watch videos and do pretty much anything on my Iphone so the problem is unique to these sites.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers

Monique,

Do you know what format the lectured are in?  If the lectures are in Flash format, you won't be able to play them because the iPhone does not support Flash.  If they are in a different format than Flash, you may need to install a viewer for that format.  Also, are you connecting to Blackboard using the Blackboard Mobile app, or are you using Safari?

I am having this same problam now. I am using the Bb app. I can get to the lectures but they only open in a slide show format with no souond. There is a little speaker link but nothing happens when I click on it in lecture formated in powerpoint. In my other class the instructor uses Articulate to format the lectures and I can not get them to come up at all. Thanks!

Rachel,

Those are limitations of the iPhone's ability to play some multimedia formats.  For instance, if your instructor wants students to be able to play their Articulate lectures on the iPhone, they have to create those lectures with settings to include HTML 5:  http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/viewing-articulate-storyline-content-on-an-iphone, or you may have to download the Articulate player for iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/articulate-mobile-player/id505546381?mt=8   And to play Powerpoints with audio on the iPhone, you may need to convert them to another format: http://presentationsoft.about.com/od/powerpointtipsandfaqs/f/96-powerpoint-iphone-ipod.htm
