I got this email today from an instructional tech consultant at our university, working with a professor. I do not know how to respond or what to think:
It seems that the wrong file is being sent to some students within the grade center, when sending an attachment for feedback. (Students submitted assignments via assignment link). Instructor attaches the correct file as feedback, checks it to make sure it is going to the correct student. She then gets a message from the student(s) that they got the wrong file. I reviewed each file and file name and watched her submit the file and on review, I witnessed the wrong file in the student's grade.
Any ideas? Thanks very much.
Hi Cindy,
You didn't mention what version of Blackboard you were using, but this sounds like a bug that was fixed some time ago. I'm having trouble finding a knowledge base article on the issue. I'd recommend you or your system admin submit a ticket with Blackboard support and find out the status of this issue.
Thanks, Glen
Glen, thanks for the note. We use 9.1.4 at the moment. I ended up submitting a Bb ticket and got a pretty quick response. The work-around: Do not use Attempt when in the student's cell to add an attachment, but use View Grade Details. And yes, I was told this would be fixed with a service pack, which we'll be doing around Christmas time. Thank you for your response, Glen.
