An instrcutor go into a module, in the Course Tools area, click the Announcements and click Create Announcement. Receive the error below:
"Error attempting to load available announcements The specified object was not found.
For reference, the Error ID is cbf09520-1c79-4634-9089-8f99ace98366."
I have checked the Resolved Issues in Release 9.1 SP5 document, this problem wasn't listed there. But I found the information on this webpage. (http://rmit.edu.au/browse/Staff%2FLearning%20and%20Teaching%2FSupport%20and%20resources%2FTeaching%20technologies%2FLearning%20Hub%2FSupport%2FBlackboard%20Issues/#_ADAPTIVE_RELEASE_1)
Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks a lot.
(We use Bb Learn 9.1.50119.0)
Jin,
The issue that the web page you found is referring to is identified as LRN-31077 (AS-160768,AS-16150). It started in SP5, and is resolved in SP7, according to the 9.1 known issues list. However, it doesn't sound as if that's really the problem you're seeing, since it's not related to creating new announcements. Have you matched the Error ID number in the bb-services.log to find the actual Java error?
Mike
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much. I'm able to replicate the problem now. It likes a dead loop.
Somehow, if the user did:
1) Create a module page and add My Accnouncements in the module page.
2) Under Course Tools, go to Announcement page, create an annoncement and choose Course Link to the module page created before.
3) Delete the module page
4) Under Course Tools, go to Annoucement page, get the "Error attempting to load available announcements The specified object was not found."
5) User may recreate the module page, but the Announcements will not work.
I will create a Bb call to see if there are any workaround.
