Hello,

i was wondering if it is possible to send an email notification to the users of a class whenever there is a forum post. Anyone have any ideas?

Tom,

If a forum is set to allow subscriptions, users can choose to subscribe to the forum and get emails when there are new posts.  Starting in Blackboard Learn 9.x, there is also the new notification system, which allows users to be notified by email or in the "What's New" module when particular types of new materials are added to their class(es), including new discussion postings.

However, the option to be notified about new postings in the class discussion forum is a choice of the user, not the instructor.  There is no way for the instructor to force those notifications to go out automatically if the user hasn't chosen to receive them.
