In 9.1, I see no way to email announcements to students as they are created. Can anyone help?
Email notifications about new announcements are now processed through the Blackboard notification system, and you will only have the option to send out an email when an announcement is posted if your system has the notification system turned on, email notifications enabled, and the system notification settings configured to allow instructors to override the students' normal notification settings.
When creating a new announcement, if you don't see an option that says "Override User Notification Settings: Send Email to all users even those that choose not to receive Announcement notifications through email.", then one or more of those things has not be configured on your system, and you'll want to talk to the IT Help Desk at your school about getting notifications set up to allow you to do this.
