I'm having issues with Java and Bb. I check browser and it tells me that Java is not installed. But I can see it else where. Because Bb can't see it, many features aren't working like HTML Creator.
Researching it, it seems like Java updated recently, end of May, and Bb hasn't caught up. Because Macs update Java automatically there is no way within my technical skills, to go back to an old version that Bb will recognize.
Will Bb be updating soon so that they are up to date with Macs?
Dana,
Sorry for the slow response--I don't routinely monitor this forum.
You can see which browser, Java, and operating system versions are compatible with each version of Blackboard by checking this page: http://kb.blackboard.com/display/IDSR/Student+and+Faculty+Support+Resource+Center. However, it's quite possible that your school is not using a recent version of Blackboard CE, which would explain why the current version of Java isn't listed as being supported. You'll need to contact the IT help desk at your school to find out what their plans are for upgrading.

There are some known issues with how Apple has implimented Java in their OS. Depending on what version of CE/Vista you have somethings will work better than others when using a Mac. I would recomend having both Firefox and Safari installed on you Mac. Sometimes I find one browser will work better than the other depending on what I am trying to do.
Hope this helps
