How can I get Internet Explorer 9 to work with blackboard? Whats the problem please help.
Browser vendors have a tendency to add or drop features between the release candidate and final release. So Blackboard likes to wait until the final release before working towards ensuring the browser works. So look for IE9 to work with CE or Vista within 6 months after it becomes a real product.
Sometimes new browsers do not introduce new changes. Or if they do a client setting change can resolve the problem. Sometimes the changes are very fundamental.
In the past my Blackboard representative has asked that we provide him or her the problems our users had with new browsers in case we discovered something Blackboard overlooked. You might talk to your local technical support if they are interested in the information to pass along to their Blackboard support representatives.

We've noticed if you switch to comptablity mode webCT works fine. I have posted a link on how to enable. http://tegr.it/y/3hes
Hi Ryein,
In my experience it is almost never worthwhile downloading the new version of a browser just like it’s almost never worthwhile buying the first version of new hardware. It takes the developers at least a few months to work out the kinks and release something that’s really useable. Best bet – wait until IE 9.1!

Feel free to look around! : D
Hey, I noticed the same issue when i tried but i seem to have gotten it to work (for now)
From the start menu, if you have the Internet Explorer icon pined to the top, Right Click and select Browse Without Add-Ons. Go to the page and log-on and see what happens.
Seems to have let me in, and hopefully it doens't inturrupt anything during submissions.
Maybe you can change to google chrome, i think that is great.

Chrome isn't compability with Vista or CE8 - it's a great app, but don't use for your course work.
Blackboard has known issues with Internet Explorer 9 (IE 9). To fix these issues set IE 9 to Compatibility View.
Has this been fixed?
IE 9 is included in all Windows 7 installations and is really incredible Blackboard has not supported it yet.
Support personnel is burdened with issues just from things BB does not support (like this).
Elias,
What version of Blackboard is your school using? IE 9 is supported on the current versions of Blackboard, but if your school is using an older version such as CE/Vista, then it has not been updated to support the newest browser versions.
