I am with PCCUA and am having trouble posting to a discussion forum that my teacher created for my class. The status for the discussion has 0 posts and 0 participants. When I click to open the discussion link, there isn't a text window to post in. It just says, "Organize Forum Threads on this page and apply settings to several or all threads. Threads are listed in a tabular format. The Threads can be sorted by clicking the column title or the caret at the top of each column." And, "No items found". There is no where to type my post. Can you tell me if this is an error in how the forum was set up by the teacher, a problem on Blackboard, or an error in my browser? I don't think I'm the only student in my class having these problems.
Hi Tammy,
From the description you give I have the impression that your teacher didn't allow members of the discussion board to create new threads. But at the same time no threads are created, where you could respond to. As long as the instructor does not create a thread there's nothing to react on and the discussion board can't be used. That would also explain why all students have this issue.
Hope this answers your question.Henk
Hi Henk,
My professor said that she did post the discussion on blackboard; however, when I click in the discussion page, it shows no item found. She said that she switch to the student view of the page and it does show up. Is there any error on my page? And how can I fix this problem? Please help!!!!!

Lionel,
Aside from confirming from the instructor that you're looking at the right place within the course, and finding out from other people in your class whether they can see the discussion board, there's probably nothing you can do yourself. You will need to work with either the instructor or the help desk at your school (who may be able to look at the course) to figure out whether the discussion board is actually visible to students or not.
