Hello,

I would like to know how I can make the assignment title a clickable link in the gradebook. The user guide references clickable links in the "How Students Can See tTheir Grades," but does not indicate how you make an assignment title a clickable linke.

Thanks,

Michele,

Can you describe more what you are trying to accomplish?  Is your intention that when students view their grades, they can click on the title of the assignment and be taken somewhere?  If so, are you talking about linking to a piece of content in the course or to an external web site?

When a student views the gradebook we would like them to be able to click on the title and be taken to the assignment so that they can review it.

Ok got it.  I don't think there is anything to configure to allow this.  However, depending on HOW a student views their grades they will get links.

With the normal grade report that a student gets to with the My Grades link or by going to Reports, Grades, Student Grades, they will not get links.  However, if the student instead goes to Reports, Learner Profile, Gradebook grades, then sets Report View to Table and clicks the Run button..... then they get a view that will link to the assignment.  This is only try of assignments that are already linked to the gradebook.

As far as I know, that is the only way to get the links from a gradebook assignment to the lesson it's from.

Hope that helps,
Rick

Okay, I see that in the following path, Reports > Learner Profile > Gradebooks grades > Table, that the titles are automatically linked.

My department and many of my colleagues on campus do not make the REPORTS tab available to our students because they complain that it is too confusing and takes too many clicks to get to their grades. We are a community college so they do not want or need access to all of the features of this tab. Plus we do not like them to see the class average because a student who does not complete an assignment receives a zero and that takes down the average, so the average is not a true reflection of ability as it is not the average of the students completing the assignment. We do not use the grade nugget/course tools for the same reasons. We have a way to allow access to the grade book in the Resources Tab. This is still a three click process, but we can put it on the Course page and make it a two click process. The students like it much better, but unfortunately, the assignment titles are not linked. Thanks for your help anyway!
