can my work be recovered after it is lost due to a session time out?

i was completing a homework assignment for one of my classes and took me roughly an hour to finish. when i went to click submit it brought me back to the login page. it now appears that my work was never submitted nor saved. is there anyway to recover this or do i have to do it all over again? please help!!!!!

Hi Brittney,

Sorry to hear about the troubles as this is definitely frustrating!

Based on my experience, unfortunately it isn't possible to recover your work because it was never transfered to the server.  We have this at our school sometimes too.  One of the best practices is to type out an assignment, discussion board post, essay, etc. in another program first (such as MS Word) and then copy and paste the submission into the assignment field in Bb. This way there is always a backup.  If this is an assessment/quiz we have found too that it is best to save early and save often.

You may check with your instructor to see if they see anything on their end, but unfortunately it is not likely that the work was saved or recorded in Blackboard.
