We upgraded our test server from Bb 8 to Bb 9.1.

I had set, updated, installed building blocks on the Bb 8 instance - which was a clean install

The update is complete -  9.1.30151.0

The Sys Admin Building Blocks module only displays
 Authenticaiton
 Learning Enviornment Integrations
 Context Encryption Key
 Integration Password

We are running on a Windows server.

How do i get the Building Blocks link back?

Bob,

I haven't seen that before, but I've only tried the 8->9.1 upgrade a couple of times.  Just off the top of my head, you might double-check your new 9.1 license file to be sure that it includes a "license component" entry for "building.blocks".  I'm not sure how all the individual license components are registered, but I see that we do have a separate entry for "building.blocks" in our 9.1 license file.

Otherwise, the other thing to check is to look for "Administrator Panel (Building Blocks) > Building Blocks" under the list of privileges.  If you have a "System Administrator" system role, you should automatically have all the privileges turned on, but if you have any other role, it's worth making sure that it's turned on for that role.

I don't see any other way to turn the Building Blocks link on or off.

Mike,

thanks.  I've forwarded your message to my server admin.  He's not on campus today.  We'll see if this helps.

I guess we could go back and start again since it's a test server.

Change the version number in the bb-config file back to 8.x save it and re-run the update and convert install. This should force the installer to install all of the missing components. This worked for us when the Building Blocks and Web Services links were missing after the first attempt.

Regards,

Kofi
