We have a course with several HTML package files. When we copy this course to another course, students cannot access these files. They get an error message: The specified resource was not found, or you do not have permission to access it, even after I run the CHECK COURSE LINKS.

Jinsong - you are doing a course copy? do the links work if you do an export then import? We've seen (on occasion) where doing a copy is bringing the link, but not the file so they get the error.

There are several issues related to course copy, permissions and broken links/missing files. We have also had course copy problems; not only students, but also instructors, were missing proper permissions for copied course files and course file areas.
We found that the most reliable way to ensure file permissions in copied courses are correct, for both instructors and students, is to perform an archive of the existing course and then restore it to a new course, rather than making a direct course copy.
This method only works for access to course content that was uploaded, however, and not course links - old course links (like links to Elluminate lectures) remain anchored to the previous course and so inaccessible to students of the new course. The workaround we figured out was to post the direct link to the Elluminate lecture on the Elluminate site, rather than trying to post a link to the Blackboard Elluminate page.
