Chat Room Error Message

Any idea why students would be getting an error message when they try to get into the chat room?  I had them do a browser check.  Specifically, they are seeing "The chat tool is currently unavailable.  Try again later."  This is followed by "Session has expired. Close the program and log in again."  I saw that there were some previous discussions on this, but they were specific to whole campus-type issues.  This situation is only occurring with a couple of students.
