Hi,

We have developed a number of template courses that are then applied to the courses we run. What we are wondering is if tehre is a way to re-apply a course template overwritting the existing content?

What we have found so far is that by using the snapshot process with the field ownership set to snapshot is that the course templateis appended  to the bottom - not replacing what was there already.

The result is the same if we use CRS_COPYINTO via snapshot or within the GUI.

The process we have dreamt up now involves the following:

1. Remove all the content from the course in question

2. Set the field ownership to be Snapshot

3. Generate a Snapshot file that contains only that course with the relevant template course key

4. Run a MANUAL import

5. Set the properties back

6. check the content

This seems very long winded, especially when you consider that we have courses with over 4000 children items on them. Is this approach valid? Is there a better way of doing this?

Many thanks

Nathan
