I'm running CE8. I have 12 group projects, and I want each student to sign up for 3 of them, so I used group manager to create 12 groups using sign up sheets. However, once a student picks a group to join, he or she can't join any other groups. Is there a way in CE8 to allow students to use sign up sheets to join multiple groups?

Hi Rich,

The group sign up sheet is "exclusive" in that once a student signs up for a specific group withing a "group set", they cannot sign up for other groups within the same set. The design intent was to keep students from "shotgunning" and instead make an effort to decide on accepting a specific group.

About the best alternative is to create smaller sets of sign up sheet groups such as "Agroup1 to Agroup3", "BGroup1 to Bgroup3", etc.

Cheers,

Bob

Hmm. Thanks for the response. It's pretty annoying that CE limits the sign up sheets, whereas Academic Suite allows for multiple sign ups. But you've given me an idea for a workaround.
