Dear Dr. C-
I am a designer at a school using Bb v 8. We closely monitor (and re-publish for our users) the most recent browser compatibility information that Blackboard publishes. I notice that there is not one single page URL that I can watch for updated browser compatibility--- instead, there are several unique page IDs. As a result, you have many different (and outdated) versions of this document online at the same time. Please see:
Sept. 30
http://kb.blackboard.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=25368489
December 21
http://kb.blackboard.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=48759446
I understand that these are not even the most up-to-date documents as I write this, but I can't find the new one with a Google search.
Is it possible to either...
A) Create a single page URL that always has the most up-to-date browser compatibility information, such as
blackboard.com/browser_compatibility/v8.0
or
B) Create an RSS-enabled blog/wiki feed that we can subscribe to which will always provide the most updated information?
Either choice should be a simple configuration in your content management system's preferences.
It would make a big difference to us out here in the trenches.
Thank you-
Ted Curran
Ted,
Along with release notes and other version-specific information, the Blackboard Maintenance Center at
http://kb.blackboard.com/display/DOCS/Blackboard+Maintenance+Center
includes supported browsers, OS's, and plugins for each Blackboard version. I agree, it would be nice if it were more obvious how to find it!
