While listening to a recorded class, I get an error message:

libStreamNeed; Connection has been shutdown: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

I then have to listen to the entire thing again. What do I need to do to prevent this?

I am using Vista server on WebCT. I do not know what version.
I am using Windows XP home addition.
Thanks

Hi Dirk,

Without knowing more specifics about the video, it could of simply been that the connection between you and the server where the video is stored was interrupted. It could of also been an issue with the java on your computer. I am not at your school so do not have info on what type of system is being used, so I can not provide any additional details. If it happens again you may consider re-installing Java on your VISTA machine.

You may also wish to contact your schools WebCT or IT help desk for suggestions.

Hello,

I have a student getting the same thing when trying to watch video lectures.

They use Blackboard Vista 8. Do you know how to resolve this?

They have uninstalled their previous version(s) of Java and installed the newest version, yet they are receiving the same error.
