--- Server: ??(??) | Client: Other(WIN) ---
Client OS: Windows Vista
Browser: Internet Explorer 8
Media: Windows Media Player 11
File: WAV
When I log in to my school's Blackboard account, then select my course, lesson and lab, I have a list of file names on the left pane and nothing in the right pane.
The files listed in the left pane are WAV files. Clicking on the file gives the error message.
Using Mozilla Firefox 3.5, the file can be downloaded or opened. Opening plays the WAV file just fine in WMP11.
Going to another lesson and lab, there are WMV files that can be clicked, and IE8 will prompt and allow to open, save or cancel. Open allows the file to be downloaded and is properly played by WMP11.
How can I further troubleshoot this problem?
Please suggest any tools or techniques. I would like to solve the problem using the existing software (IE8 and WMP11). I would like to avoid doing a lot of unnecessary uninstalls and reinstalls.
Open to any diagnostic tools from browser addons to packet sniffing.

Sorry - I don't have any trouble shooting hints for you. I know it's not your preference, I've had trouble with Win Media Player also and have switched to GOM. Download at gomlab.com.
Good luck either way.
