Course Import does NOT work... trying to copy existing course to new shell

Hi all,
I have about 9 years experience with Webct and about 1 year with version 6.0. suddenly my IMPORT feature does NOT work. I get error the same message - that the zip file is not valid.

I have two identical courses in the summer. I finished one and tried to copy it into the second course shell that was established by our administrators. This feature worked seamlessly during Spring semester but now will not allow import.

STEPS ALREADY TAKEN:
1) Backed up first course
2) selected SAVE AS A FILE to MY FILES
3) Downloaded the .bak file to my computer
4) tried unsuccessfully to upload the .bak file from first course into the second course shell. Got error message:
Import Log

*The import failed.
*There were 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s) and 0 warning(s).
*Fatal An error occurred when unpacking the content package. Verify the package is a valid zip file.
*Fatal The content package failed to import

I am told constantly by colleagues in other universities that Blackboard support does NOT reply promptly to assist administrators or faculty with questions - so I am at your mercy. This really is unpleasant - since it is such a common feature and it used to work perfectly.

HELP!! Thanks, Jeanette Ramos-Alexander jalexander@njcu.edu

Jeanette,

Please see Dr. C Mike's response at http://discussions.blackboard.com/jive4/message.jspa?messageID=117300#117300

Also, no need to post the same post in multiple forums as the Dr. C's monitor them all.

George,

The post is you're replying to from 2009, when Dr. C's was running on different forum software, and the article it's linking to is likely somewhat older than that.   Did you have a question?

Mike
